The Vince Demuzio Broadband Network, or VDB Net, is a State of Illinois project completed in early 2011, bringing high-speed broadband services to Macoupin and Montgomery counties in west-central Illinois.
Named for the late Vince Demuzio, who served the area as a State Senator from 1975 until his passing in 2004, VDB Net utilizes 12 tower sites and covers most of the two-county area, providing download speeds up to 6 Mbps to residents and businesses previously uncovered by broadband services. VDB Net was designed and built by QWireless in partnership with Royell Communications, a Virden, IL-based wireless service provider that now serves as the retail provider of broadband on the new network.
